When to Go
The climate in Cartagena is always hot and humid, and even during the rainy season, you can still feel that amazing Caribbean sun. While you can go at any time of the year, the best time would be between January and March, when it’s usually warm in the morning and cool by noon.

The Rosario Islands are a great to visit. This is the perfect way to take a break from the city, relax on the pristine beaches and snorkel and gaze at the stunning reefs.

Sancocho is a traditional food in Colombia made with many kinds of meat, most commonly chicken, pork ribs, cow ribs, fish and ox tail. Choose from white rice or sliced avocado to complete this succulent dish.

Arepas
Foodies gravitate to Cartagena's version, which tends to be extra buttery and fluffy. Arepas can make the perfect mid-day snack, and can also be eaten as a meal. With the right blend of ingredients including chicken, cheese, pork or beef, the dish is definitely one of Colombia’s must try.
